ILR BOARD MINUTES
June 3, 2010

Meeting called to order at 8:04 EDT.  Board Members Mark Smith, Kathi McKinney, Bill Safreed, Mary Jo Miller, Kristy Brown and Registrar, Jan Wassink present. 

Approval of minutes from May 4, 2010 – approved by email and posted.

Approval of Actions of the Governing Board: the governing board did not meet in May so no actions to approve. The governing board will be contacted by email to set up a meeting June 22.

Next Meeting:  ILR Board Face to Face at the ILR offices in Kalispell, MT on July 15-17, 2010.

Registrars Report: 

1.        Financials for April & May 2010 were reviewed and a 2009/2010 comparison was provided.

2.       Rental facility space: the ILR attorney is proceeding with collection actions against the former renter of Suite 3. All suites are now rented and there are no problems with any of the tenants or facilities.

ILR-SD: 

1.       E-bulletins: the first ILR Anniversary Show announcement and other upcoming shows will be sent in an e-Bulletin the week of June 7, 2010.

2.       National Show Committee – Mary Jo contacted the Iowa State Fair facility in Des Moines, IA for 2010. It is very centrally located with easy interstate access from across the country and they have two arenas available. Mary Jo reviewed the costs for two options for buildings available at the facility. A budget is being prepared and the committee will continue discussion to develop the program. 

3.       Anniversary Shows – the first show is in June and all promotional items are being shipped to the show management.

Old Business:

1.       Face-to-Face Agenda Items – the board reviewed the proposed agenda. 

2.        DNA proposal: the proposal has been tabled. The board will revisit the proposal in the future.

3.       The board went into executive session to discuss member concerns. 

New Business:

1.       The National FFA Convention was discussed. Barb Baker was invited to join the call to discuss specifics of the event and proposed changes for 2010. The board discussed the proposed event expansions. The topic was tabled and Jan will contact Barb for additional information.

2.       Memberships – At the present time, it is possible to accumulate points retroactively for events in which you have participated. A motion was made that effective June 30, 2010, membership must be paid prior to the event to receive points for events. ILR membership is required to receive ILR-UP and ILR-IF points and ILR-SD membership is required to receive ILR-SD points. Motion by Mary Jo, second by Mark. Motion passed unanimously.
