As you know, you must be a member of the ILR in order to participate and receive awards from the Universal Awards Program (UAP). Similarly, you must be a member of the ILR Show Division (ILR-SD) in order to receive awards from the ILR-SD.

In the interest of encouraging more people to join these awards programs, the ILR has been retroactively crediting points from the first of the year to individuals who have joined between January 1 and the present. On their last conference call, the ILR board voted to continue this program until June 30, 2010. Beginning on July 1, 2010, you must hold the appropriate membership at the time you participate in the event in order for your llama to receive credit for any points on awards earned at that event.

So, to take advantage of this introductory incentive program within the UAP make sure you join the ILR before the end of June. Similarly, to take advantage of this introductory incentive program within the ILR-SD and receive credit for all points already earned in 2010, make sure to join the ILR-SD before the end of June.

Many of you have already received certificates of achievement and excellence for points earned in both programs. Championship certificates to date have been sent out and the accompanying trophies will be going out soon. Others would have earned the awards but are not members so have not received them; obtain your memberships today so you don’t lose the points you have already earned towards these awards!
