SUBCOMMITTEES

Fleece Judging

Scorecards – Scorecards were adjusted by Fran so that the age breakdowns would match with the placing cards. Fran to send new scorecards to Dar.

Placing cards – Fleece and fleece products placing cards were previously reviewed, and no changes were needed. Motion to approve placing cards by Mary Jo, seconded by Val. Motion passed unanimously.  Pam to send placing cards on to Governing Board for approval at their meeting April 14th.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ’s for show management was previously discussed via email and no further changes were needed. Betty made a motion to approve the FAQ for show management, Mary Jo seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

FAQ’s for show management to go on to Governing Board for approval at their meeting April 14th.

FAQ’s for exhibitors is currently being worked on. It was decided that we would do a separate FAQ’s for exhibitors and for show management. One question for the exhibitor list suggested was how to find out who is having ILR fleece shows. Fran has asked Dar about members being able to find out about upcoming ILR fleece shows, as the current system is not that specific. Currently events are input by members, and it was suggested that someone needs to look at the posted events periodically for accuracy.

Education Judges/ Show Staff

Fleece Clinic - Fran has proposed an ILR – SD Llama Fleece Judging Clinic at Kristy Brown’s ranch in Wisconsin on July 17, 18 & 19, 2009. The education committee has approved this proposal, and it is now with the judges committee for approval. Assuming the proposal is approved by the Judges’ Committee, the next step will be the ILR-SD Governing Board for approval.

Another possibility of doing a fleece clinic would be at Hinterland in Oregon, but the proposed dates are too close to the Wisconsin clinic; we would like to do this clinic, but at a later date.

Show Management Guide – The show management guide that was originally started by Judy Ross has been updated by Fran. The guide was passed out via email and feedback/editing has already been given. Motion to approve show management guide was made by Mary Jo and seconded by Betty. Motion passed unanimously.

Education general

Education Signs for fleece shows – Fran made the suggestion that the committee come up with some educational signs. These signs would be for fleece show management to be able to print out and display, alongside the judged fleeces on display, for the education of both the exhibitor and the public. Fran will pull what she already has and add the ILR – SD logo.

Grandfathering Requests

The fleece committee has received one grandfather request from the judges committee. This applicant has already been reviewed, and the recommendation has been sent back to the judges committee.

Next conference call meeting will be Tuesday, May 5th, 2009, at 8 pm EST.

Mary Jo made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Betty seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously, and the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:49 EST.

Minutes submitted by Pamela Tait, ILR-SD Fiber Committee secretary.
