RULES & GUIDELINES COMMITTEE Minutes
May 13, 2009

Meeting was called to order at 8:05pm. Committee members present: Kristi Murdock, Shawn Norman, Pam Jensen, Mary Jo Miller, and Debbie Arendas. Absent – Tom Ross.

National Show: There was discussion about the possibility of holding a National Show in 2009. All present members of the Rules Committee were against the idea for this year. Discussion continued of what a National Show should be………ideas presented were holding an open show as opposed to qualifying to show at a National venue; holding a show on both sides of the country, or at least alternating from year to year. We would like to see more emphasis put on the “Grand Prix” concept at this time.

Adult Showmanship Points: Discussion on awarding points to person as points in all other classes are awarded to the animal’s ILR number. Shawn made a motion to credit showmanship points to the ILR owner code. Mary Jo seconded. All members present in favor. Pam to present to ILR Governing Board.

Guidelines: Will a face to face meeting be necessary to put together the ILR-SD Guideline Book, or can this be accomplished through email? Kristi has folders set up with all guidelines that have been approved by the Governing Board. Deadlines need to be set for all committees to get their guidelines finalized and approved so the Rules Committee can get them organized and formatted. Pam to bring up at ILR Governing Board meeting.
